The Well Determines the Abandonment Approach
A proper abandonment starts with the well that is actually in the ground.
Empire Pump can remove the existing pump equipment and perform a downhole video inspection to evaluate the casing and interior condition of the well. With older wells, casing may be deteriorated, heavily scaled, or otherwise require preparation before the borehole can be properly sealed.
When conditions require it, our crews can mechanically brush or perforate the casing to open access to the original borehole and annular space. This allows the required sealing material to reach the areas that need to be isolated rather than simply filling the inside of the casing.
